Body By Blake-A Farewell

The school year is coming to an end. As a graduating senior, this will be my last article for Body by Blake. I want to thank everyone who has read any of my articles and reached out with feedback. I sincerely appreciate it.

I want to write this last article about the impact fitness has had in my life. Fitness has been very influential in my life. It’s given me a focus. A sense of accomplishment that has given me confidence. Fitness has been a getaway from any stress or frustration I endure. I believe being fit is a pathway into your best self.

“The people that have the hardest time keeping it together emotionally are the people who don’t work out.”
-Joe Rogan

Training, eating, and resting properly can allow you to progress in fitness seemingly around the clock. Achieving goals in fitness has lead me to accomplishments in other areas of life by using the same principles. Consistency has been a big element. On the days where you don’t feel like going to the gym, that’s when it’s especially important to go. A day off can take you another to get better. And if you’re not trying to improve, well, what are you doing? I feel it’s important to develop a sense of productivity everyday.

“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.”
-Charles Darwin

As a full time student, I’m also a member of the business club, and of course a writer for the school paper. I also work three part time jobs, one of which is an internship in my field of study. I’ve made my first investments. I’ve continued working out regularly and consider myself in great shape. I have a job offer and I’m pursuing others. Of course there’s my bachelor’s degree coming up as well.

However, I don’t want to identify with any of these things. I don’t want to identify as a student, a businessman, a writer, or an athlete. I’d rather identify with characteristics of someone hard-working, determined, intelligent, and altruistic. Someone inspiring. These are the things I want to be remembered for. I have big ambitions in mind for the future. I hope to inspire you on some level.

As Body by Blake comes to an end, I will continue writing about fitness and life even if not publicly. You can bet I will continue on my own fitness journey as it is an integral part of my life. I hope you have gotten value from my column. I hope you use fitness in your life to open the gateway in becoming a stronger version of yourself every day, physically, intellectually, and emotionally.

Until next time NEC, take care.
