Kyle Driscoll played on the 15s National Championship men’s rugby team at New England College during the 2014-2015 season. He is now a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, and he has a current record of 13-3-0 with an eight- fight win streak.
Driscoll’s next fight, the Cage Warriors 141 World Championship, is on Jul. 22 in London. He is hoping that this fight sends him to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as it did for Connor McGregor and many other UFC fighters.
Growing up in the small town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Driscoll was always interested in MMA
and UFC fighting. When he was 17 years old, he had his first fight and got hooked to fighting ever since.
Later on, to further his career in MMA, he moved to San Jose, California ,to be a part of the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), which has trained many notable UFC champions ,including Dan Cormier, Khabib Nurmagomedov ,and Cain Velasquez. Currently, Driscoll continues to work hard as he trains in the AKA to fulfill his dream of becoming a UFC champion.
“To see someone shoot for a dream like that is amazing, especially coming from a small town in Oklahoma and then coming here,” said Dylan Faraci, a men’s rugby player at NEC.
