NEC men’s basketball season begins Nov. 6 at Gordon College. The ‘Grims will start on the road followed by a four-game home stretch in Henniker. The team is looking to bounce back after going 7-18 last season. The ‘Grims know they have to bring intensity in order to get better every day, said Junior shooting guard Josh Robie.

“This year, starting off has been completely different. The intensity we’ve been bringing in practices and a couple of scrimmages, it’s pretty early, but on the defensive end and offensive end, treating every rep. like it really matters because it does matter,” Robie said.

Senior point guard Mike Strazzeri said team chemistry can help them win.

“We’ve definitely gotten closer and closer since not even last year but since the start of the school year, like just us starting to practice together everyday, I mean we’re starting to build connections with each other,” Strazzeri said.

Head Coach Charlie Mason wants to see a good basketball team that will work for each other.

“I think we got a really good group of guys that care about each other, I’d like to think they’re going to be selfless and they’re going to play for each other,” Coach Mason said.

The ‘Grims know they have a tough road ahead this season, but all eyes lay on Nov. 6 at 8:00 PM.
