The New England College Women’s Field Hockey Team defeated Bridgewater State University in a thrilling 4-3 win on the Don Melander Field Sept. 10. This marked the first win in the young season for the ‘Grims as well as their first ever program win against Bridgewater State. The ‘Grims were tested early as they were down at halftime 2-1, but their focus never drained as they were able to get the game winning goal in the 4th quarter.
“That was a really good team effort. We had so much good passing, so much good connection between the layers,” said senior Adelaide Kelly.
Head Coach Carly Sweeney loved what the team showed and said she hopes to keep building on the win.
“Our mantra is no ceiling and to be limitless and keep pushing every time we practice and hit the field,” Sweeney said.
The ‘Grims play home against Simmons University on Saturday at 3p.m. The game marks the first conference game of the season.
