As students return to New England College for the fall semester, so do fall sports. NEC fall sports include Field Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer, and Rugby.
The field hockey team is coming off a 12-8 record last season and will look to build upon that. “We’re starting out strong, so I hope and can’t wait to see how much we improve,” said senior captain MaKenzie Reed.
The volleyball team had a 19-7 record last season, with a perfect 3-0 conference record in the regular season. They are currently in California for their preseason games.
Men’s soccer is coming off a NECC championship, which got them a bid to the NCAA Division lll tournament. “We want to defend what we won last year,” said senior Cooper Ribaudo. Also, with the addition of new head coach Pat Laughlin, the men’s soccer team will look to go even deeper into the NCAA tournament.
Women’s soccer is the 2nd favorite to win the conference, coming off a 7-10-1 record. last season. They will be opening their season on September 1st against Plymouth State.
Men’s Rugby starts on September 24th, looking to build upon their season last year.
Women’s Rugby will be opening on September 3rd, with new head coach Tara Roberts. They will be looking to build upon their season last year.
