NEC Women’s Soccer suffered a close loss at home against Rivier University on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The match marked the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game for NEC Women’s Soccer.

The Rivier raiders did not take long to score, as Jillian Argo scored seven minutes into the game. Then 30 minutes later, Kaylee Magoon put the raiders up 2-0.

Sophomore defender Chloe Beausoleil scored the only goal for the ‘Grims at 39 minutes into the first half. This marked Beausoleil’s first collegiate goal.

“It all started with our pregame team prayer,” said Beausoleil. “I was so excited after the goal.”

Goalkeeper Stephanie Bronowicki, after winning the GNAC goalie of the week last week, tallied seven total saves in the game.

The ‘Grims will be on the road Saturday to take on GNAC opponent University of Saint Joseph.
