Three of New England College’s fall sports teams started off the semester with a strong start.
Women’s soccer won its first game against Anna Maria College 1-0, followed by a 3-0 victory against University of Maine, Presque Isle.
Men’s soccer continued to keep the momentum going as they won both games in their opening week, defeating Plymouth State 2-0 and University of Maine, Presque Isle 4-0.
Frederick Rosen, a Junior Goalie told The NewEnglander that he and his teammates feel they will keep up with their hot start and continue to produce.
“I feel like we’re going to take these wins and use them as a confidence boosters, especially going up in the upcoming away games and home games,” Rosen said. “We want to win, we want to put pressure, we want to get a ring, so moving on forward this will help us a lot.”

Field hockey finished up the undefeated fall sports opening week with an impressive win against Anna Maria College winning 6-0. They played superb defense, not allowing Anna Maira to get a shot off.

Freshman fan Hannah Okala attended all three of Women’s soccer, Men’s soccer, and field hockey opening games.
“I thought it was fun- there was a lot of school spirit and the bleachers were packed out. I thought the soccer teams were flying with great energy and it was a cool experience overall,” Okala said, when asked how she felt experiencing NEC sports games for the first time.
NEC fall sports kick off their season to a blistery hot start and is showing promise to have a bright and successful season.
