Cold and flu season is here. There has been an increase in respiratory illnesses on campus, according to Jessi Hull, NEC’s Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner. During this time, Hull said there are ways to prevent the spread of illness. “If you notice someone who looks obviously ill, try not to be in close contact with them. And if you are feeling ill, try to avoid being really close to other people.” Hull said some other ways to help boost the immune system include “making sure you’re getting good sleep, making sure you’re eating healthily, you’re drinking lots of water, and you’re getting good fresh air and exercise.”
NEC’s vaccine clinic will be held in the Simon Great Room from 10am-2pm on Thursday, Sept. 30. Flu and Covid vaccines will be available. Other mandatory vaccines needed to register for spring classes will also be offered. Use the QR code below to register in advance. Registration is preferred, according to the Wellness Center.
