On Saturday, April 6th, 2019, fourteen CJ students, along with Professor Jones and Professor Hubbard, traveled to Lebanon, New Hampshire for a tour of the Lebanon Police Department.
The group was hosted by Chief of Police Rich Mello who teaches for NEC as an online instructor. The day included a tour of the department, a canine demonstration, a presentation by an undercover officer, and finally an overview of the hiring process by Chief Mello.
The Lebanon Police Department graciously provided lunch to the group during the presentations.
The visit concluded with several shooting simulation exercises. Several students, Chad Fazio, Jamel Vilmont, Jabari Nelson, and Sean McDowell were selected to participate in the shooting simulation exercises acting as officers confronted with an active suspect on the street, or in a vehicle stop.
