From Campus to Campus: NEC’s Shuttle Bus Service

Going from a lush green environment to a busy city scape is a drastic change of scenery, but for some students at New England College, it is a change that is necessary for their classes.

NEC has two campuses, one in small town Henniker, NH, with plenty of greenery and nature, and the other in Manchester, NH: the biggest city north of Boston. While being 32 miles in between the two campuses, the drive to and from may not be do-able for some students.

After going through some changes due to the partly remote semester during the COVID-19 pandemic, the shuttle service in between the two campuses is back for the Fall 2021 semester.

“Some kids don’t have transportation, some kids don’t want to put the miles on their car, some kids don’t want to pay for the gas,” said Carl Accorto, supervisor for the campus-to-campus shuttle. “Hopefully, the shuttle takes a burden off of these students.”

“It’s an enjoyable ride,” said Megan Marcus, a student who takes the shuttle. “It’s quiet, but it gives me a chance to be lost in my own mind, personally.”

She also said the driver has a great sense of humor and is very kind.

Accorto urges students to use the service. “It’s a great service, and it’s there for you,” he said.

The shuttle runs Monday through Thursday at these times:
