For September, NEC athletics have awarded soccer player Logan Cassin as the male athlete of the month and field hockey player Jackie Mountford as the female athlete of the month.
During the month of September, Junior forward Logan Cassin tallied up 5 goals and 10 points. “It feels amazing to be recognized,” said Cassin. “I couldn’t have been put in this position without the work our team puts in.” Cassin and the men’s soccer team have a 4-6-1 record as they look to make a playoff push in the coming month.
Jackie Mountford was a force as the goalkeeper for the field hockey team. With a save percentage of 86.8 and 70 saves. Mountford explained, “As a goalie, I need everyone on the team’s support, so this award shows how strong our team is.” Mountford and the field hockey team are also making a playoff push with a 7-5 record.
