Dr. Carrie Colbert, known by many as ‘Dr. C’ was honored as the regional recipient of the 2024 Accreditation Council For Business Schools And Programs (ACBSP) Teaching Excellence Award. Colbert received the ACBSP award for excellence in teaching in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.

When Colbert got the results back, she was at first not sure if she was going to win the award.

“I got the email – it went to my junk mail. It said, ‘thanks anyway, here is the list of the people who won.’ I don’t even know why I scrolled, so I was scrolling and was like, ‘oh that’s my name’,” Colbert said.

Dr. Colbert started teaching at New England College in 2017. She originally worked as a marketing professional, then worked as an Adjunct Professor in California before she moved to New Hampshire in 2016 and became an adjunct professor at the now Daniel Webster College (Now owned by Southern New Hampshire University). In 2017, Colbert became a full-time professor at New England College.

Dr. Colbert teaches many classes at NEC, including Leadership Across Borders And Cultures, Personal Selling And Customer Relations, Digital Media Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Advertising.

Although Colbert teaches multiple classes, she said Leadership Across Borders And Cultures is her favorite to teach.

“We talk about perception and biases. I have some activities that I do that helps broaden their minds and show it is not just them in this world,” Colbert said.

In June, Dr. Colbert will go to a conference in Miami to go for the national award.
