On Wednesday, NEC hosted its 7th Annual Giving Day, which is a 36-hour event where parents, staff/faculty, alumni and students can support the college through donation. This year marks the third year using the call-making system.
This year’s goal for donors was 550, which was higher than last year’s goal of 400.
“Last year we hit our goal and the year before we came very close, but we did not hit it. This year we’re hoping to blow it out of the water,” said Anna Twombly, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations.

Much like last year’s giving day, this year saw the goal met, and then some; capping at 567 donors, the event raised $109,622. The money raised was designated to many different things like student activities, sports faculty and staff development.
“It’s the donor’s choice, so many different things- and it all goes in the annual fund as that designation,” Twombly said when asked where the money went toward.
