New England College hosted its annual “NEC Takes Over the Peak” day at Pats Peak on Feb. 26, 2025. This event had lots of features including live music, bingo to win prizes, a raffle to win prizes, free food and drinks, board games, free tubing, skiing, and snowboarding, as well as free ski and snowboard lessons.

NEC students kicked back in the top of the ski lodge and deck where the live music, food, raffles, bingo, and board games took place. Not everyone who comes to this event needs to ski or snowboard to still have fun.

Students were asked if they ski or snowboard as well as other questions.
“I do not. I am accident prone and clumsy, so I just came to tube and record,” said junior Jack Cote. “My favorite part of this event so far has to be those raffles.”

Other students at this event do ski or snowboard.
“I’ve been skiing my whole life, and I figured maybe I’d be able to ski with friends,” said first-year student Camden Fagan. “I’ve been skiing since I was five years old, but I don’t have any disrespect for snowboarding. It’s a different way to do the same thing: have fun.”

Some students have never been to this event before, so they did not know what to expect.
“Oh 100% it was exactly what I was expecting, and more. It was perfect,” Fagan added.
