The NEC men’s lacrosse team is looking to bounce back from their previous season after finishing 4-11 in the 2024 season.
Last season, the team lost a lot of close games, and graduate student Richard McMahon Jr explains the biggest difference from last years team to this years.
“Its the chemistry. We have all our returners back, everyone who started last year. We’re missing a few, but we added more fire power to offense,” McMahon Jr said.
Coach Jedd Brown has coached at New England College since 2013, and has seen much success. He has led the ‘Grims to five NCAA division III tournament appearances, seven time conference championships, three time conference coach of the year, and has coached 54 all-conference players. Brown emphasized the maturity in the team compared to last year.
“We had a lot of younger guys on the defensive end, a lot of freshman in bigger spots. Those freshman who are competing in those roles are just a year older,” Brown said. “I know that with a year more of development and just experience in the game, that when it comes down to it, they’re going to be much more successful.”

An issue so far this season for all spring sports teams is the amount of snow Henniker has gotten in the past two weeks. Practices have been moved inside the field house, which is not as productive as being able to practice outside on the turf.
The ‘Grims first game is home against Curry College on Feb. 21.
