Former Sen. Scott Brown lost the republican primary race for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire against former Sen. John Sununu. Before the election took place, Brown spoke at New England College as part of the Town Hall Meeting series.

Brown’s meeting was held on the same night as democratic gubernatorial candidate Cinde Warmington. Some students stayed but others left shortly after Brown began.

A student that did not want to be named said he decided to stay for both events.

“If you are going to listen to one side, I think it’s important to stay and listen to the other side too,” he said.

Aymee Bernardo and her friends left after the event began.

“Some of my friends were asking him questions, but he wasn’t really being clear, and I feel like he didn’t really want to answer them. So I felt like if I wasn’t being heard, why would I stay?” Bernardo said.

Voting in the midterm election will take place on November 3. Henniker’s polls are located at 18 Depot Hill Rd.
